Building Strength
- Muscles are essential components of the human body. Muscle contractions allow human beings to move. Muscles can grow if they are if they are placed under stress. The basic underlying principle of muscle growth is the concept of overload. If the muscles are stimulated with stress that is beyond their current capacity then they will grow bigger to be able to handle that stress in the future, provided that the stress is not great enough to cause an injury. Through weight training, one can continue this progressive cycle and increase his or her muscle mass over time.
